We all know whatever that Vince McMahon does on WWE TV, he probably has some future plans for it. This week on SmackDown Live, Carmella changed R-Truth's appearance and disguised him as a lady to protect the title.

Just think the reason why WWE could have done this. Sure, this served the comedy purpose and also entertained the fans, but I feel this thing will have a pay-off on RAW.
R-Truth can once again appear on RAW as a lady, and then the lady Lacey Evans can stun the WWE Universe by beating R-Truth for the championship. She can even state the 'disrespect to lady' element to add spice to the storyline.
This could be the best way to announce that even female superstars can compete for the 24/7 Championship. Also, this could be a reason why WWE has not added the 'Hardcore' stipulation to the title.
