On January 6, WWE will present the first-ever episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix. Naturally, this is a massive move for the Stamford-based promotion as they are moving to one of the top video streaming platforms in the world with the hope of expanding their reach even further.
To commemorate this move to Netflix, the January 6 edition of Monday Night RAW is expected to be one of the best episodes of the brand. Triple H and his team would have planned many segments to make the show a grand affair, and in this article, we will look at four such potential segments:
#4. Pat McAfee will return to commentary
Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE
It's been a while since Pat McAfee has been away from WWE commentary duties, and in his absence, fans have missed his entertaining partnership with Michael Cole. However, that will soon change as McAfee will return to Monday Night RAW soon, as per Triple H.
At a Netflix event, The Game confirmed McAfee would be a part of the RAW Netflix premiere. However, it remains to be seen whether he will team up with Cole because the latter is currently commentating on SmackDown. Regardless, McAfee, in a tweet, also expressed his excitement over coming back.
#3. Travis Scott will show up on WWE RAW's premier on Netflix
In the past, WWE has had many celebrities make on-screen appearances to promote shows. On January 6, the promotion will keep up with this tradition as the ever-popular Travis Scott is set to show up for the big premiere. Triple H made this announcement when he went to one of Scott's performances and presented him with a belt.
Scott is one of the most popular names around the world, and adding him to the premier of RAW on Netflix only adds to viewership and the entertainment factor. It will be interesting to see if Scott will be involved in any segment when he appears on the red brand. It has already been confirmed his music will be WWE RAW's theme song.
#2. The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes are advertised
As mentioned above, January 6 is the date for the premiere of RAW on Netflix. However, this premiere of the red brand is set to feature some of the biggest names on SmackDown too, like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and The Rock. All three names are advertised to be a part of the show.
Since The Rock is also advertised to make a return, it means fans will most likely see the continuation of The Bloodline story on the red brand. The last time The People's Champion made an appearance was at WWE Bad Blood 2024, where he seemingly sent a message to Reigns, Rhodes, and Jimmy Uso.
#1. John Cena's retirement tour begins
At the 2023 Money in the Bank, John Cena made an emotional announcement and let his fans know he would begin his retirement tour next year. This retirement tour announced by the 16-time world champion is set to begin on RAW's premiere on Netflix.
Like the names mentioned above, Cena is also advertised to be a part of WWE RAW on January 6. It will be interesting to see whom does Cena go up against in his first rivalry. With The Rock, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns all being adverised to be present, it will be worth observing if Cena is a part of The Bloodline storyline.
