In what was possibly one of the most compelling Gauntlet matches in the company's tag-team history, Kofi Kingston is finally heading to WrestleMania to fight for his dreams.
Although his titanic victory last week fell flat when Vince McMahon decided to bring serious alterations to his unsettled Road to WrestleMania, Xavier Woods and Big E Langston's willingness to send their brother to fight for the most coveted prize in sports entertainment.
It was an incredible way to keep things intriguing heading into The Grandest Stage of Them All. A lot of things were scheduled for tonight with Kurt Angle's tussle with A.J. Styles getting the bigger spotlight.
The shocking factor, however, was to see Charlotte decimate Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Championship and besides the rumors that surrounded The Empress of Tomorrow of possibly being injured, WWE could very well be planning something huge for the women's main event at WrestleMania.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Some significant spotlight was thrown at Shane McMahon's current clash with The Miz. The A-Lister's quest to seek redemption from Shane O'Mac has now led to a stipulation being added to the bout.
Both the superstars will now lock horns in a Falls Count Anywhere which only confirms that Shane could be pulling off something huge at this year's visual extravaganza.
Regardless of what transpired, there are many things WWE vicariously told us through some of their segments and matches tonight. What were they? Let's find out.
Here are the 3 things WWE secretly told us on SmackDown Live:
#1 WWE could be planning to unify both the Women's Championships
As much as I hate to write this, Asuka has lost the SmackDown Women's Championship to Charlotte two weeks away from The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Whilst legions in the WWE Universe have criticized the decision in vehement fashion, some of them have endorsed the idea of making the WrestleMania bigger and better.
It's understandable why WWE would want to bring more eyes to the main event, but bringing at the expense of Asuka's reign as Champion felt completely disappointing.
Considering that Charlotte is now heading into WrestleMania representing the blue brand's throne, this could be a genuine possibility that the company unifies both the titles at the biggest event of the year.
If long-term prospect is anything to take here, then it certainly helps in strengthening the women's division and keeps an element of competition on the main roster.
#2 Kurt Angle is hand-picking his opponents for his Farewell Tour
Kurt Angle is undoubtedly one of the greatest performers in the world of professional wrestling, if not the greatest. The former World Champion would be fighting his final match at this year's WrestleMania where he is currently scheduled to face Baron Corbin.
Although the card is always subject to change, one has to admit that his farewell tour has seen him lock horns with the likes of Chad Gable, Apollo Crews, A.J. Styles, and Samoa Joe.
Considering that Joe came to Monday Night Raw to tussle it out with The Olympic Gold Medalist, it looks certain that the company is allowing Kurt Angle to hand-pick his opponents before he pulls the curtain on an illustrious career at the biggest event of the year.
Kurt's tussle with A.J. Styles did start off in perfect fashion with both the superstars putting their technique to full display until Randy Orton came out and ended the contest in disappointing fashion.
Whereas the decision to keep both the superstars strong can be understood, the fans are still waiting for WWE to replace Baron Corbin with John Cena for Kurt's final match.
#3 Xavier Woods and Big E Langston will turn on Kofi Kingston
In what was one of the most emotional endings in SmackDown Live history, The New Day are heading to WrestleMania to fight for their dreams.
The creative booking here was interesting with Vince McMahon putting Xavier Woods and Big E Langston to test against some of the most talented tag-teams in this industry.
The duo went on to defeat the likes of Gallows and Anderson, The Bar, and, Rusev and Nakamura while The Usos forfeited themselves out of the contest in riveting fashion.
Since the victory has now impelled Kofi Kingston to realize his dream at WrestleMania, this could be the most interesting way for Vince McMahon to book a blockbuster heel turn at WrestleMania.
The story is already there. Xavier and Big E's perseverance has put Kofi back where he belongs and with Kofi finally winning the WWE Championship, they could turn their backs on him and ignite a sensational angle.
