SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and RAW GM Adam Pearce have been quite busy heading into Survivor Series: WarGames, with many storylines set to reach peak at the premium live event. The PLE will take place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on November 30.
The Bloodline Civil War is expected to main event the show, and WWE has not shown any desire to have another WarGames Match. At the same time, fans could see Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce square off at Survivor Series, which could lead to a WarGames match.
With a couple of weeks left before the premium live event, we take a look at three signs that a Nick Aldis vs. Adam Pearce match could happen at Survivor Series.
#3. Things have become personal after the Randy Orton incident
Back at Crown Jewel, Randy Orton's bout with Kevin Owens turned chaotic. The match never started as The Prizefighter attacked Orton with a steel chair during the latter's entrance. This led to a huge brawl, and many officials tried to stop the two stars and got hurt in the process. This also saw The Viper hitting Adam Pearce with an RKO in the middle of the ring.
Nick Aldis didn't sanction the 14-time World Champion for putting his hands on a WWE executive, and Pearce was furious with his colleague.
This incident came just a few days after The Bloodline 2.0 showed up on Monday Night RAW, with Adam Pearce telling Nick Aldis to 'control his roster.'
With Aldis unwilling to take any action, though, Pearce could step up and challenge him to a match since things have become personal between the two after Crown Jewel.
#2. The two GMs could fight for brand supremacy
WWE could proceed with a different plan regarding a match between Pearce and Aldis and bring back the traditional RAW vs. SmackDown 5-on-5 match, in which Team Pearce would face Team Aldis.
It has been quite a while since fans last saw that type of match at Survivor Series, but it could add more hype since the two GMs would fight for brand supremacy.
A 5-on-5 match would also allow more superstars from RAW and SmackDown to participate in the premium live event, opening the way for new storylines on both brands.
#1. Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis have been teasing a match for months
This is not the first time the two General Managers have teased a match at Survivor Series. This match has been in the making for months, with the two hinting at a match earlier in the year.
Taking to social media a couple of months ago to respond to a video by Adam Pearce, Nick Aldis teased a match between the two.
"After much deliberation, I have decided to respond to this post by my Raw counterpart. We both enjoyed a decorated tenure in our careers before WWE; there is no doubt you & I respect the legacy and tradition of our industry. So you’re asking if I would step in the ring with you?… Time will tell," Aldis wrote on X.
This week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown could shed more light on what is next for the two GMs, with a match at Survivor Series remaining a likely scenario.
