Goldberg is considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time and remains a fan favorite, even though he rarely competes anymore. The WWE Hall of Famer recently opened up about having one last match before retiring from the business.
While speaking on the Busted Open Radio, he admitted that he would love to wrestle one more time, even if this is not in WWE or AEW. The veteran thinks he could promote the match himself.
"I would absolutely love to have that final match. I would. Am I good not having it? Yeah, I’m fine with it. But it’d be neat to have one. It wouldn’t have to be with anyone. I could do it myself and accomplish what I wanted to accomplish, right? I could do the promotion myself. Overseas, do it in Israel, do it in India, do it somewhere, do it in Japan," Goldberg said.
Goldberg has been a free agent as he is no longer under contract with WWE, but the company may still bring him back for one last match. With that in mind, we take a look at three superstars that he will not face in his final match.
#3. The Rock
Like Goldberg, The Rock is considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. The two stars had faced each other only once in their respective careers when they collided in the main event of the Backlash Premium Live Event in 2003.
It was Goldberg's first PLE with WWE, where he defeated The Rock, who then temporarily left the company. Fast-forward to today, and fans don't expect the two to face each other again, as The Great One will focus on his feud with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes once he returns.
Another storyline fans expect him to work on is the Civil War with Roman Reigns and the newest version of The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa).
#2. Goldberg will not face Roman Reigns
It is the same thing as with The Rock. The Tribal Chief has a lot of history with the WWE legend, whom he beat for the Universal Championship at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event back in February 2022.
It was Goldberg's final match in WWE, and it would make sense for the company to re-ignite the feud one last time, but Reigns is up for other storylines right now. Once he returns from his hiatus, he is expected to confront The Bloodline and start a Civil War with its newest version.
#1. Brock Lesnar
That match would also make sense, as the two megastars have faced each other three times over the last 20 years. Goldberg emerged victorious in two of them (WrestleMania 20, 2016 Survivor Series), while The Beast Incarnate defeated the WWE Hall of Famer at WrestleMania 33 and became the Universal Champion.
Still, fans don't expect this match to happen. Brock Lesnar has been dealing with legal issues over the past several months, and it is unclear if he will ever return to WWE. The company appears to have distanced itself from the former champion amid his legal troubles.
