3 superstars who should be drafted and 2 who should not in the upcoming Superstar Shake-Up

Wrestlemania is the grandest PPV in WWE's calendar year. Wrestlemania usually marks the beginning of fresh match-ups and storyline. One way to do so in the brand extension era is the annual Superstar Shake-Up. The 2019 Superstar Shake-up is around the corner and with that, there are certain superstars who desperately need a change of brands to make things better for their career.

While the Superstar Shake-Up could be a career changing for some superstars like Jinder Mahal, some wrestlers are best suited for the brand they are presently in. Here are 3 superstars who should be drafted and 2 who should not.

#5 Should be drafted: Sanity to Raw

Nikki Cross wasn't part of the group when it was called to the main roster.
Nikki Cross wasn't part of the group when it was called to the main roster.

Sanity's move to the main roster has been one of the most disappointing call-ups from NXT. While things from them are not as bad as it was with the Ascension, the land of opportunity has not done any wonders for them.

Sanity was moved to Smackdown Live without Nikki Cross who continued to be a part of NXT as a singles competitor. While Sanity did make an impressive debut defeating the New Day at Extreme Rules 2018 kickoff show, things haven't gone well too for them since them.

Sanity has struggled to barely make an appearance on Smackdown Live and when they did, they have been on the losing end most of the times. A move to the Raw brand could be a step towards a better direction for them as Raw doesn't have a stacked tag team division like Smackdown Live. The addition of Sanity to Raw will be a huge boost for Raw's tag team division as it has been struggling with injuries and lack of proper teams.

#4 Should not be drafted: Randy Orton

Randy Orton has excelled in his current run as a heel.
Randy Orton has excelled in his current run as a heel.

Randy Orton has been one of the most exciting superstars in Smackdown Live in the last few months. Orton thrives as a heel and ever since he turned heel at Extreme Rules 2018, the Viper hasn't looked back. Orton seems to be enjoying his run as a heel as he has found new ways to be more vicious and unpredictable.

With that being said, Orton is yet to win a championship since turning heel. While his build-up as a heel has been slow, it only means that there are bigger things planned for the Apex Predator. There is a long list of exciting storylines Orton can be a part of in the blue brand.

One of the best thing about the Legend Killer is the reaction he receives from the crowd. Orton can be a great heel and an anti-hero at the same time. This widens the numbers of feuds he can have in Smackdown Live. Hence, Orton still has a lot to offer in Smackdown Live and there is no need for him to leave the blue brand.

#3 Should be drafted: Finn Balor to Smackdown Live

Finn Balor is the current Intercontinental Champion.
Finn Balor is the current Intercontinental Champion.

While things looked bleak for the Irish Young Gun in 2018, 2019 has been very promising for Finn Balor till now. Balor kicked off 2019 in style as he produced an instant classic against Brock Lesnar at the 2019 Royal Rumble. He would then go on to win his second championship on the main roster after dethroning Bobby Lashley as the Intercontinental champion.

However, the rise to the top of the card still seems far-fetched for the Demon King. Raw boasts the likes of Seth Rollins, Drew Mcintyre and Braun Strowman as the top contenders for the Universal Championship. It is highly unlikely for Balor to reclaim his Universal championship any time soon.

Thus, a move to the blue brand could be monumental for Balor's career. Not only will it give a chance for us to see Balor go toe to toe against the likes of Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe, but it will also reunite him with his former Bullet Club members, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

#2 Should not be drafted: Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman has lost a lot of momentum due to his continuous losses against Brock Lesnar.
Braun Strowman has lost a lot of momentum due to his continuous losses against Brock Lesnar.

The story of Braun Strowman's rise and fall is one of the most disappointing tales in recent memory. Strowman's rise as a mega-star and then the ultimate demise as just another big man on the roster has let down many of his fans. One of the main reasons behind his fall is WWE's decision of not giving him the Universal Championship when he was still hot.

A clean loss to Brock Lesnar at No Mercy was the beginning of Strowman's demise. However, what hurt him more was barring him being part of exciting feuds when he was out of title picture. Instead of feuding with Drew Mcintyre, Strowman was involved in a worthless feud with Baron Corbin. The injuries didn't help the Monster among Men either.

However, Strowman's role on Raw is far from done. The New Face of Destruction is still a capable wrestler and despite his disappointing run, Strowman could still be booked as a monster that he once was. Hopefully, things should be bright for Strowman post-Wrestlemania.

#1 Should be drafted: AJ Styles to Raw

AJ Styles has stayed on Smackdown for a little too long.
AJ Styles has stayed on Smackdown for a little too long.

Smackdown Live indeed has been a house that AJ Styles built. Styles has been the focal point of the brand ever since he was drafted to the blue brand in 2016. In his 2 reigns as the WWE Champion, Styles has held the title for a record 511 days, making him one of the longest reigning champions of the modern era.

However, Styles has been part of the brand for a little too long now. As a singles superstar, Styles has achieved everything on Smackdown Live. There aren't many feuds Styles still has to offer on Smackdown Live. Styles' departure will also be beneficial for other wrestlers.

A move to Raw can be a big step not just for Styles himself, but the entire Raw brand itself. The Phenomenal One can be part of many interesting feuds against the likes of Drew Mcintyre, Braun Strowman and most notably Seth Rollins. Styles could be the change that Raw needs right now.
