#2: Deserved it: Mr Pefect

The Perfect One didn't live up to his name during a flight in 2002.
The Perfect One didn't live up to his name during a flight in 2002.

When Mr Perfect Curt Hennig returned to the WWE in 2002, fans were excited.

The Perfect one hadn't been seen in WWE in nearly a decade, and after returning at that January's Royal Rumble, fans were hopeful for a long run by the former Intercontinental Champion.

Unfortunately, Perfect's tenure would come to a sudden end in mid-2002, though it's hard to argue he deserved it. As part of the infamous Plane Ride From Hell, Hennig drunkenly challenged young rookie Brock Lesnar to a shoot fight, to determine which star was the best amateur wrestler.

The whole plane ride was a disgrace for the company and an example had to be made.

With no real prospects coming up in WWE and an example needed, the company wasted no time in cutting ties with Perfect.
