The tag team division of the WWE has been in shambles of late. On the red brand, an odd tag team of Bobby Roode and Chad Gable are the tag team champions while recently news emerged that AOP member Akam has suffered a heartbreaking injury which has ruled them out for months.
Looking at the other teams of the division, The Revival recently asked for their release whereas the B-Team has just been booked like a joke. Heath Slater and Rhyno are also lost in the mix.
On SmackDown Live, the division has a plethora of talent but WWE has booked a tag team championship match between the Bar and the team of the Miz and Shane McMahon for the Royal Rumble PPV which shows the state of the division.
The Bludgeon Brothers had to be written off TV because of Erick Rowan's injury while the Good Brothers and Sanity have been written off for no reason. The New Day have feuded with almost every tag team and the Usos are a part of an Attitude Era type storyline of late.
The tag team division of WWE needs a fresh start now and so WWE should introduce new tag teams in the division. So, here are the 3 tag teams that WWE should form in 2019 and 3 that they should not:
#1 Should form - Braun Strowman and Elias
Braun Strowman and Elias are immensely popular amongst the WWE Universe yet both the superstars do not have any storyline on RAW currently.
In my opinion, it would be great if the WWE launches them into the RAW tag team division as they can easily change the face of the division and also elevate it to the next level. This would give Braun and Elias a perfect direction on WWE TV and they can even generate huge merchandise sales as a tag team.
#1 Should not form - Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt
WWE had often teased the formation of this tag team after the abrupt culmination of their feud on RAW. However, Bray Wyatt later united himself with Matt Hardy as the Deleters of Worlds ruled the RAW tag team division. But, Matt Hardy got injured and Wyatt was written off TV because of no storylines.
On the other side, Finn Balor who was lost in the mix for so long time has finally made his way back to the top and has emerged as the new #1 contender for the Universal Championship. If he is involved in a tag team angle with Bray Wyatt it would be a step back for the extraordinary man who does extraordinary things and so, WWE should refrain from booking this.
Also, Bray Wyatt too deserves to be a part of the singles division and not limit himself as a tag team wrestler.
#2 Should form - Shinsuke Nakamura and Aiden English
Aiden English has not appeared on SmackDown Live ever since he got crushed by his former best friend, Rusev in a singles match. It seems like WWE Creative does not have any plans for the Shakespeare of Songs and so, has decided to keep him off the TV.
On the other hand, the Japanese superstar Shinsuke Nakamura lost his United States Championship to Rusev on the Christmas Special episode of SD Live. Since then, he has developed a rivalry with the Bulgarian Brute on Tuesday nights and they are set to clash at the Royal Rumble with the US title on the line.
WWE can take a long term advantage of this situation by introducing English in this feud and let him take Nakamura's side. Though I pick Rusev to stay as champion eventually, this feud can serve the purpose of forming a bond between Aiden English and Shinsuke Nakamura.
This heel tag team can seriously freshen up the SD Live tag team division and also, English can work as a mouthpiece for the Artist, who struggles to cut promos.
#2 Should not form - Naomi and Carmella
We have often seen WWE forming a tag team by pitting two random heel/face superstars together in order to bolster the division. With the company finally introducing a tag team division in the women's division there is a strong possibility that we may see new tag teams emerge in the division.
Talking about a random face tag team, the first name which comes to my mind is the team of Naomi and Carmella. They are lacking direction on SD Live but that does not mean they should be put in the tag team division. WWE may even form this tag team as soon as next week by having the Princess of Staten Island take the side of Naomi against Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.
In my opinion, they need to stay in the singles division otherwise the singles division of SD Live will just become all about Becky Lynch, Asuka and Charlotte Flair.
#3 Should form - Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were one of the most unstoppable forces on SmackDown Live as the Canadian duo used to topple every opposition when working as a tag team. However, once they shifted to RAW their momentum was killed and they became mere jobbers losing matches at every PPV.
Both are currently injured but the WWE has started airing vignettes of their returns on TV. Instead of booking them as singles superstars, WWE should launch them straight in the tag team division on Monday Night RAW.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have the potential to work as a face as well as a heel tag team and so, they will provide the Creative team with some much-needed flexibility in the tag team division. Working as a tag team will build surely them up for a huge singles push in the future as well.
#3 Should not form - Andrade and Rey Mysterio
Of late, WWE has started booking matches between Andrade 'Cien'Almas and Rey Mysterio for no reason why. The two superstars had torn the house down in their last meeting and this week they are scheduled to face in a 2 out of 3 falls match.

I sense that WWE is booking these matches so that Andrade can earn Mysterio's respect in kayfabe and the master of 619 will then propose to form a tag team with him which he will readily agree.
Now, this should not happen as both the Mexican superstars are extremely talented and a move to the tag team division will be a kind of demotion for them. So, WWE should not book these superstars as a tag team.
