We are now less than a week from the seventh edition of the Money in the Bank PPV. This event is set to garner a lot of buzz among the WWE universe every year due to its unique Ladder match. The WWE team has left no stone unturned to embellish the match card with the best of everything they can offer.
This event, scheduled to take place on June 19, 2016 at the T-Mobile Arena in the Las Vegas suburb of Paradise in Nevada, is sure to marshal large crowds and entertain the WWE universe. A lot has happened over the past three months since WrestleMania 32 and there are many things to look forward to. This PPV is of special importance because this is the night that decides who the future WWE World Heavyweight Champion is and that fact would multiply the aura associated with this PPV.
Each PPV has something unique to offer and that is the reason why people love them. The company, however, has been following a certain pattern in all the PPVs since WrestleMania 32 and a closer look at the proceedings would unearth that fact. As part of this slideshow, let us have a look at three things that have become common at all the WWE PPVs since WrestleMania 32 (Payback, Extreme Rules, and MITB)-
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler on the pre-show
This is the most irritating thing that is happening with the WWE right now. Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler was a given when it comes to scheduling the pre-show matches. How many times should we see this? This shit happens not only on the pre-show but also on RAW and SmackDown.
I am not sure if this is a curse or what! Whoever wins the 'Andre the Giant' memorial Battle Royal is destined to lose momentum on the roster! This happened with Cesaro in 2014, Big Show in 2015 and Baron Corbin in 2016.Corbin made a grand WrestleMania debut and won the trophy but all of it has been in vain. The trophy is the only significant thing that he ever got in the company.
It is high time WWE realized that this match totally sucks and avoids including it in any other future PPVs.
Sami Zayn-Kevin Owens/Dean Ambrose-Chris Jericho bonding
Not only was a match common to the PPV as mentioned earlier but also were the opponents in a match featuring a particular superstar. Take a look at the last three matches Kevin Owens was part of in the PPVs since WrestleMania 32- vs. Sami Zayn (Payback), vs. Cesaro, The Miz and Sami Zayn (Extreme Rules), vs. Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn, Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro (MITB).
Wherever there was Owens, you cannot stop but look for Sami Zayn. Owens has been part of three different match set ups but all of them have Zayn in it. This definitely was an interesting thing contrary to the case mentioned in the previous slide. WWE is making use of the rivalry between these two guys to perfection and I don't mind seeing this duo in some other matches in the future. After all, we only want to be entertained – give the company the freedom to do it their way!
Yet another duo going through the same is Ambrose and Jericho. These two guys have competed at Payback and Extreme Rules in a singles match and Asylum match respectively and at MITB, they are part of the Ladders match. The chemistry between these two guys is fantastic and the fans love it. But the same thing continuing a little longer would not be visually appealing.
Hopefully, let us assume that WWE breaks the bond between these two at MITB.
The Wyatts nowhere to be seen
When did we last see any member of the Wyatt family in WWE? The night after WrestleMania.
At WrestleMania 32 where The Rock and John Cena totally decimated the 4 members of the family and made an emphatic statement much to the embarrassment of these guys. But they reclaimed their momentum in the Raw after that, by decimating the League of Nations.
Later, it was reported that Bray Wyatt suffered a calf injury and since then he disappeared, never to be seen again. What about the other members of the family, especially Braun Strowman. This guy, also called the "Black Sheep", has made a lot of news after his WWE debut owing to his huge size and undefeated streak.
It is always difficult for someone to get into limelight especially when a guy like Bray Wyatt is around. This is the time they should have utilized to get some momentum. But after all, they were just pawns in the tournament. They have got nothing to do with it as the creative team decided to keep the entire family away from the center stage.
Not even a single PPV among the last two and MITB have seen at least one member of Wyatt family compete. There have been rumours that Bray Wyatt would be returning before MITB but nothing has happened as of now and you can take it for granted that he won't be coming back for this PPV.
