#2: Kofi Kingston will defeat Samoa Joe by sneaky tactics
Kofi Kingston faces his toughest challenge yet as WWE Champion, as he will put his title on the line against Samoa Joe. This match has the potential to be the sleeper pick for match of the night as both competitors can put on a show in the ring.
The feud has had a lacklustre build as Joe attacked Kofi shortly after losing the United States Championship to Ricochet last month. Joe has put Kofi and Xavier Woods to sleep in recent weeks and has threatened to do more damage if New Day gets involved. Since New Day has a tag title match earlier in the night it is questionable if they will be at ringside, but somehow someway Kingston will retain the WWE Championship in “fluke fashion”.
The reason this is likely to happen is that besides Joe there is no clear-cut challenger for Kingston at SummerSlam. The obvious choice, Roman Reigns, is likely to still be busy with Shane McMahon at SummerSlam. There are also no other heels on SmackDown that are strong enough at the moment to be built up in four weeks to challenge for the WWE Championship at a Big 4 Pay Per View. It is most likely that WWE will keep the Joe-Kingston feud going to SummerSlam, where the result is much harder to predict since Kofi would have had a lengthy reign with the belt and Joe is more than deserving of a run with the WWE title.
