In a match 10 years in the making and the match that should be the main event this year’s SummerSlam, Kofi Kingston will defend the WWE Championship against longtime rival Randy Orton.

This is the perfect storm of a story, heat and what should be a good match. However, Orton should pick up the win and the title here.

Kingston has had a pretty lengthy and good title reign, defeating challenger after challenger while rarely taking a loss.

However, if there was one person that would be the perfect person to defeat Kofi, as well as one person that fans wouldn’t hate to see him drop the belt to, it would be Randy Orton.

While Kofi defeating Orton would be good for his character and would prove The Viper wrong, the story that could be told the 13-time World Champion wins could be even better.

Orton can come out and say he told everyone that Kofi wasn’t ready for the main event and that he got lucky that he injured Ali in the first place.

Kofi could have some self-doubt and think maybe Orton is right after all. It could make Kofi become more serious in trying to win the title back, and babyfaces are typically better chasing the titles than they are at being champion.

With the possible stories that could be told if he wins and given the length of Kofi’s title run, Randy Orton should pick up the pin and win the WWE Championship after an exciting main event match.
