#3 - Is ANYONE ready for Asuka?
Conspicuous by her recent absence is SmackDown Live Women's Champion, Asuka. She was not booked to appear or wrestle at Elimination Chamber. She has virtually been forgotten about in the midst of the Becky Lynch/Charlotte Flair/Ronda Rousey love fest going on in the WWE.
Tonight is the perfect night to kickstart a new and fresh program with the Empress of Tomorrow. Perhaps a heel turn in her favor would be a bold, yet reasonable and smart move for the company.
Let's face it; outside of WWE live events, we have not seen Asuka on television ever since her Royal Rumble title defense over Becky Lynch. I believe in spite of the language barrier, WWE can get Asuka over as a heel who is bitter, angry and hurt from being left out.
Place her in a program with someone like Naomi, Carmella (in spite of the ongoing personal issues with the two) or heck, give her a program with Shayna Baszler if the WWE were to pull the trigger (hypothetically) on bringing her to the main roster.
In hindsight, I would've preferred to have seen a Charlotte versus Asuka rematch from a year ago, with Asuka getting her revenge victory for Flair ending Asuka's massive winning streak. Nevertheless, given who we have left on the Smackdown Live Women's Roster, along with any names that could make the jump from NXT, you can still have a relatively decent program with Asuka and [insert WWE Superstar name here]. The WWE can even go another route in which you place six, or perhaps as much as eight women in a ladder match with Asuka to determine who will be the next SmackDown Live Women's Champion.
Seems like I'm grasping at straws, but my point is we have a slew of different scenarios and options that WWE can roll with in terms of Asuka's character, whether they choose to continue her as a babyface or turn her into a heel.
