Finn Balor won the WWE Universal Champion at WWE SummerSlam 2016

As mentioned before, Finn Balor joined the main roster in 2016 as a part of the RAW roster. The Irish superstar was instantly inserted into the Universal Title picture. He became the #1 contender for the title by defeating Roman Reigns on his RAW debut. His victory over Reigns gave him a match with Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam 2016 where the winner would be the crowned the first ever Universal Champion.

Finn Balor brought his 'Demon King' persona at the Biggest Party Of The Summer and overcame the Architect to win his first world title in WWE.
