3 Things we could see on SmackDown this week (November 8, 2019)

Tyson Fury will be on SmackDown
Tyson Fury will be on SmackDown

After invasions on both SmackDown and RAW, NXT Superstars have made clear that they will leave no stone unturned to win the battle of brands at Survivor Series, where all three brands will clash. WWE announced two matches for Survivor Series on RAW this week, and more matches could be added to the pay-per-view on this week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Tyson Fury, who made his WWE debut at Crown Jewel, will also be present on this week's show.

It all began on the SmackDown after Crown Jewel, as NXT made a shocking invasion, taking out a number of SmackDown Superstars throughout the show. NXT Champion Adam Cole retained his title successfully against Daniel Bryan in what was certainly a dream match for many fans. Another title match took place last week, as Bayley defeated Nikki Cross, continuing her reign as SmackDown Women's Champion, but her celebration was cut short by NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler. While Tommaso Ciampa beat The Miz, the team of Tegan Fox and Rhea Ripley earned a victory over Fire & Desire.

This Friday's SmackDown will be held at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. Here we discuss three things we could see on SmackDown.

#3 Shayna Baszler faces Sasha Banks in a singles match

A Triple Threat Match is already set between Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Shayna Baszler at Survivor Series. Last week, the NXT Women's Champion ambushed SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley. In fact, Baszler also put her hands on Bayey's best friend, Sasha Banks, while entering the ring.

A singles match between Bayley and Baszler isn't all that likely to happen before Survivor Series, as neither woman wants to lose momentum before heading into the big clash on November 24th. However, fans would love to see a monumental battle between Sasha Banks and Shayna Baszler, especially after the vicious assault last week.

'The Boss' has not been in action since Hell in a Cell, where she came up short against Becky Lynch. If Baszler and Banks wrestle on the Blue Brand this week, the match has a possibility of ending in disqualification, after interference from Bayley.

#2 The Undisputed Era interrupt the match between Roman Reigns and King Corbin

Set for this week
Set for this week

A big match is set to take place on SmackDown this week when Roman Reigns will collide with Baron Corbin. While Reigns represented Team Hogan at Crown Jewel and was instrumental in picking up the victory for his team, Baron Corbin was part of the losing Team Flair.

When Reigns faced Nakamura a couple of weeks ago for the Intercontinental Championship, 'The Big Dog' looked set to win the match, but Corbin saved the day for Nakamura, attacking Reigns from behind and planting a seed for the feud. Corbin has been a top WWE heel for quite awhile, making him a worthy opponent for Reigns. The two will likely engage in a long-term feud, so the first match is not likely to have a fair result.

The Undisputed Era have been playing a pivotal role since the NXT invasion commenced on SmackDown last week. They also interrupted the main event match between Seth Rollins and Adam Cole on RAW, assaulting 'The Beastslayer.' However, they were attacked by The OC on NXT this week, as Styles, Gallows, and Anderson invaded the developmental brand. Considering The Undisputed Era targeted the Red Brand's biggest babyface in Seth Rollins, the same could happen on the Blue Brand this week, resulting in a heinous assail on Roman Reigns.

#1 The Fiend targets Tyson Fury

The Universal Champion
The Universal Champion

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar quit SmackDown last week. The Fiend, on the other hand, is the new Universal Champion, winning the belt from Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel. The Fiend is now part of the Blue Brand, and the Universal Championship is the primary world title on Firday Night SmackDown.

Legendary Superstars like Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Kane, and Jerry Lawler fell prey to The Fiend in the past. The Fiend will be aiming to send a strong message to the SmackDown locker room on his first episode as Universal Champion, and there is no better way than by targeting a gigantic name.

Known to decimate big names, The Fiend could go after Tyson Fury, who will make a special hometown appearance on SmackDown this week. If The Fiend sets his eyes on the undefeated boxer, it could open a gate for a blockbuster feud between the two in the future. Moreover, 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt could avenge the loss of former Wyatt Family member, Braun Strowman, who was defeated by Fury at Crown Jewel.
