It was an ordinary episode of the red brand last week and WWE will be eager to deliver a better show this week. Since Stomping Grounds is just one week away, we are expected to see an action-packed episode of RAW this time around.
Some top Superstars were missing from RAW last week. Shane McMahon had a celebration party as he defeated Roman Reigns at Super ShowDown; the team of Bayley and Becky Lynch squared off against Lacey Evans and Alexa Bliss; the Women's Tag Team Champions The IIconics put their belts on the line against two local competitors.
The Revival became the new RAW Tag Team Champions when they defeated Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, and The Usos. Lars Sullivan destroyed the Lucha House Party in a Handicap Elimination match, while Seth Rollins faced Kevin Owens in the main event of the night.
This week, Daniel Bryan will appear through Wild Card Rule, while a Fatal 5-Way match will take place to decide the next challenger of US Champion Samoa Joe. Moreover, Baron Corbin will choose a guest referee for the Universal Championship match at Stomping Grounds.
Here we discuss three things WWE could be planning on RAW this week.
#3 The RAW Women's Championship match might carry a stipulation
The RAW Women's Championship match is set for Stomping Grounds where Becky Lynch will take on Lacey Evans. The two women already locked horns at Money in the Bank, where Evans came up short. The Sassy Southern Belle will be aiming to grab her first title in WWE this time around.
The rivalry has garnered the attention of the WWE Universe. Evans, who is currently a top heel of the red brand, is good on the mic; Lynch, on the other hand, is having a dream run and she is a fan favourite. We already saw a regular match between Evans and Lynch last month. Hence, WWE might consider adding a stipulation to this contest to spice things up a little.
The two women love to bring the best out of each other and it will not be surprising if it becomes a No Disqualification Match or a Falls Count Anywhere Match at Stomping Grounds.
#2 Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder could get a rematch at Stomping Grounds
The RAW Tag Team Titles changed hands last week when Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder lost the twin belts to The Revival. The Usos were also part of the match. Since Stomping Grounds is just one week away, the twin red belts could be on the line.
Hawkins and Ryder have been substandard champions. Following their win at WresteMania, they didn't defend the titles regularly. The two men were neither part of Money in the Bank nor Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia. Hence, the RAW Tag Team division desperately needs new champions who can showcase the belts on a regular basis.
Considering Hawkins and Ryder will be eligible to get a rematch after losing the twin belts, they might demand it. The RAW Tag Team Titles were not defended at the last two pay-per-views, hence, the belts could be on the line at Stomping Grounds.
#1 Ricochet could become the number one contender to the US title
The anticipation will be high when multiple Superstars will compete to become the next in line to challenge US Champion Samoa Joe, who regained the belt when Rey Mysterio relinquished it to him following an injury. Things got heated on the Miz TV last week when five Superstars demanded title shots. That exchange has led to a Fatal 5-Way match scheduled for this week.
Some big names will be competing in the Fatal 5-Way match on RAW this week - Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, The Miz, Cesaro, and Richochet are all entrenched in the title picture right now. Judging by the participants of the match, it could steal the show on RAW this week.
The Monster among Men will be the favorite to win, given the teased feud between him and Joe the week before the Superstar Shakeup, but WWE could surprise us. Ricochet will walk in as a dark horse, but he could take the next step towards winning his first singles titles on the main roster. The former NXT North American Champion is one of the best high-flyers of Vince McMahon's company. Samoa Joe is also a top-tier performer, which makes a possible match between the two very interesting. Moreover, Ricochet stood tall after pinning Cesaro in the Six-Man Tag Team match last week; he could build on that momentum this week.
