Don’t get me wrong, I am thrilled to see CM Punk inching closer to his return to the squared circle. However, all my respect for him cannot keep me blindsided towards the possible outcome of his return.
CM Punk is a huge star, even after spending five years away from the business. Although the love and admiration for his talent have not changed, there are others on the RAW, SmackDown, and NXT rosters who worked hard to reach where they are today.
It would be unfair, if WWE uses CM Punk to their advantage at the cost of the talent that they have groomed over the last five years. CM Punk will inevitably attract more viewers for the program, but having him affect the push of certain talents would leave a sour taste among fans.
In addition, such a move would be everything that Punk’s in-ring persona despised during his time with the company.
