A lot is happening with WWE's current and former champions, such as Cody Rhodes and Goldberg. The reigning Undisputed WWE Champion is constantly looking for new challengers while the former Universal Champion is searching for the perfect opponent for his retirement match next year. Interestingly, both men may be answered by the same superstar.
The three-time WWE champion in question is Gunther. The Ring General is the current World Heavyweight Champion in his first reign and a former Intercontinental and NXT United Kingdom Champion. He is well-known for his dominant and exciting performance in every match with or without a title on the line. Recently, he crossed paths with notable names such as Cody Rhodes and Goldberg, and he might be meeting them again soon.
The Ring General fought Cody at Crown Jewel where he failed to become the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion. Weeks before that, Gunther had an intense confrontation with Goldberg at Bad Blood. From the looks of it, WWE has major plans for the RAW star in the future.

Due to the confrontation between Gunther and the Hall of Famer, the latter may already be eyeing him as his final opponent to go out with style and ensure that his last match was against a worthy superstar.
Whether or not the RAW star wins the possible match with Goldberg, sharing the ring with the WCW legend will surely be a great honor and privilege. Due to this, WWE may award him a rematch with Cody Rhodes while he is still fresh from the match with the Hall of Famer.
Which wrestling veteran thinks Gunther should beat Goldberg and then challenge Cody Rhodes in WWE?
The Ring General will surely have a packed and busy schedule in the coming months due to his status as the World Heavyweight Champion and for constantly instigating superstars. While he has angered a legend like Da Man, one veteran who supports the RAW star is Al Snow.
While on The Brand podcast, the wrestling veteran shared that The Ring General should defeat the Hall of Famer. Following the potential victory, the three-time champion should challenge Cody Rhodes while he is still considered a "threat."
"If they were to beat Goldberg with Gunther, which again business-wise they should, now you've got Gunther is coming off of that and could make a run at some point in the months down the line against Cody, be a threat, you know."
It will be interesting to see if Gunther will cross paths with Cody Rhodes and Goldberg again in WWE soon.
