In 2024, wrestling fans witnessed a great working relationship between WWE and TNA. Over the last few months, several stars from TNA have appeared on WWE programming and made quite a name for themselves. Jordynne Grace and Joe Hendry are two such notable names.
While stars from TNA have crossed over to the Stamford-based promotion, we might soon witness a top WWE Superstar show up in TNA. On July 20th, in Montreal, Canada, three-time champion Natalya could show up at TNA's biggest event of the year, Slammiversary.
During a recent episode of TNA Impact, Izzi Dame was seen challenging Jordynne Grace for the TNA Knockouts Championship. During this match, the commentators name-dropped Natalya and referred to her as the "best of all time." This could be a hint that Natalya could show up at Slammiversary.
Another reason Natalya could appear at the event is that despite signing a new deal with WWE, the Canadian superstar is not appearing on television. Given she is not injured, there is no explanation behind why Natalya is not making appearances for the Stamford-based promotion.
Hence, The Queen of Harts could use this opportunity to jump ship and show up at Slammiversary. She could confront the winner of Jordynne Grace vs. Ash by Elegance. A potential interference by Natalya after this match would lead to a huge roar, given that Slammiversary is in Natalya's country of Canada.
Former WWE writer recently questioned the way Natalya has been booked
When one looks at the current roster, it's hard to deny that Natalya is one of the biggest stars the company has. Over the years, Natalya has achieved plenty in the promotion, and she continues to cement her legacy. However, in recent times, she has been booked inconsistently.
Recently, former WWE writer Vince Russo revealed his thoughts on the same. During an episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo, the former writer said Natalya will have to remind the company who she is. Russo said:
"Because she allows herself to [be booked poorly], she doesn't stand up for herself. She doesn't remind them who she is and what her legacy is. Natalya should not be 'Yes sir, no sir.' She is royalty in the business. She has paid her dues; she has been around for a very, very long time. She deserves that respect." [4:50 - 5:10]
While Natalya hasn't been making appearances until now, it will be interesting to see if that changes in the near future. It will also be worth observing if she shows up at Slammiversary.
