#2. Randy Orton Counters the Choke Slam Into an RKO
We travel back almost 15 years, to WrestleMania XXI, where the Legend Killer, Randy Orton, tried to bury the legend of The Undertaker by putting an end to the fabled Streak. It was a classic match that went back and forth like a pendulum.
And, there came a moment in the match where all us had our hearts beating faster, and we all thought - “That’s It! The Streak is over.”
The Undertaker went for a Choke Slam; Orton countered it brilliantly, and delivered a vicious RKO. But then, the move that had felled icons was not enough to subdue The Deadman. The Undertaker powered his shoulder up at two, and went on to deliver a thunderous Tombstone Piledriver to beat Randy Orton at The Grandest Stage Of Them All.
#1. Sweet Chin Music Followed By The Pedigree
This match between two icons of the industry will go down as one of the greatest matches in the history of the WWE. The Undertaker and Triple H locked horns inside Hell In A Cell, with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee. Triple H pounded The Undertaker with chair shots, a Spine-Buster on the steel steps, and a shot on his skull with his trademark sledge hammer.
And then, came the most iconic moment of the match up. The Undertaker went for the Tombstone, but Triple H escaped.
It all happened very quickly - Shawn Michaels delivered Sweet Chin Music, and before The Undertaker could even recover, Triple H caught him and delivered a Pedigree.
Over 70,000 people in the arena, and millions watching at home, would have thought that The Streak would die at that instant. But then, to the utter shock of the fans, The Undertaker willed the shoulder up at two almost on instinct. There was a huge roar, more out of disbelief than anything else.
The Undertaker went on to viciously attack Triple H with a steel Chair, and also hit The Game with his trusted sledgehammer; a second Tombstone followed, and The Phenom covered Triple H to move on to 20-0 at WrestleMania.
