Former World Champion Triple H never failed to entertain fans during his in-ring career. And now, as WWE's Chief Content Officer and Creative Head, The Game is living up to his reputation. The King of Kings has consistently made some commendable decisions that have led to the growth of the Stamford-based promotion.
However, Triple H has also made a few ''questionable'' decisions during his stint as WWE's Creative Head. On a few occasions, The Game failed to capitalize on a hot angle, which led to a potential rivalry being wasted.
On this note, here's a look at three angles that The Cerebral Assassin failed to capitalize on:
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
#3. Triple H failed to capitalize on the angle involving Chad Gable and Otis
The Alpha Academy has endured a tough time since Chad Gable turned heel and started bullying Otis, Maxxine Dupri, and Akira Tozawa. While the three superstars did not initially stand up to Gable, Otis took things into his own hands at Clash at the Castle and walked away with Dupri and Tozawa to leave Master Gable stranded.
While many believed this would lead to a rivalry and some intense matches between Gable and Otis, nothing like that happened. This potential rivalry would have been beneficial to both, especially Otis, who has been garnering great reactions from the crowd.
#2. Gunther and Randy Orton
Earlier this year in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Randy Orton faced Gunther in the final of the King of the Ring tournament. While The Ring General eventually emerged victorious, his victory was deemed controversial, as many believed The Viper's shoulder was up during the pinfall.
Triple H acknowledged the same and teased a potential rematch at the King and Queen of the Ring post-show press conference. However, the rematch didn't take place, and both superstars have gone their separate ways.
WWE could have capitalized on this, as a Gunther-Orton rivalry has all the ingredients to become an instant classic.
#1. Not booking Jey Uso to win the 2024 Men's Money in the Bank
Ahead of the 2024 Money in the Bank PLE, Jey Uso was one of the biggest favorites to become Mr. MITB. However, WWE booked Drew McIntyre to win the briefcase instead. While this booking was not frowned upon initially, things changed when The Scottish Warrior incurred a failed cash-in later that night, thanks to CM Punk's interference.
WWE wasted the Men's Money in the Bank briefcase to elevate the ongoing Punk-McIntyre saga, which left a bad taste in the mouths of several fans. Considering the massive popularity of Main Event Jey Uso, it would have been better if Triple H had booked The YEET Master to win the coveted briefcase.
