Unlike today, it was pretty much impossible to ignore Chris Benoit in 2004, as he was at the peak of his career, and getting a massive push. Fans were heavily behind him, as he went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match at WrestleMania XX.

After about a month, he defeated Evolution along with Edge to become the new World Tag Team Champion. The WWE Universe was extremely happy to see Benoit holding both the championships as he was a fan-favorite.
At Bad Blood 2004, Benoit had to face the challenge of defending both his titles on the same night. At the beginning of the PPV, Benoit, and Edge successfully defended their titles against La Resistance. Later on in the night, Benoit defended his second title, the World Heavyweight Championship against Kane. Luckily, he managed to defeat the monster too, thus keeping both of his titles intact.
