WWE's next trip to Saudi Arabia will happen on June 7, as the company's top stars including Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, The Undertaker, and Goldberg will all be competing in matches on the card. But what will come next after Super ShowDown? Will there be any major role changes once the show concludes? Let's hope so!
As of this writing, there are three WWE superstars who could use a fresh start as a heel ASAP, but it's unlikely that the company will turn any of them prior to next week's WWE Network special.
It's quite clear that Vince McMahon's company needs to do something to increase their weekly viewership heading into their new television rights deals, which will kick in later this year. So, in an attempt to do so, here are three top faces that WWE could turn heel after next week's Super ShowDown special on their Network.
#3 AJ Styles
On this past Monday's edition of Raw, former WWE Champion AJ Styles revealed that he was suffering from a back injury, and that he would be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time. This, of course, resulted in his match against Seth Rollins at Super ShowDown being cancelled.
At the end of the Styles segment from Monday's Raw, he was attacked and laid out by Baron Corbin, who is replacing him on next week's card. So, if "The Phenomenal One" does come back after WWE's trip to Saudi Arabia, one would expect that he'll get revenge on Corbin first, but that could be on the first Raw show after Super ShowDown.
However, by the end of the night, we could see Styles go full-on heel, and destroy Seth Rollins en-route to another opportunity at the ex-Shield member's Universal Championship, presuming he's successful when he defends it against Baron Corbin next week.
#2 Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks hasn't been involved in much of anything since she dropped the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles back at WrestleMania 35. Apparently, she wasn't happy about dropping the belts to Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, and she was even less happy that she and Bayley were going to be broken up following the loss.
In recent years, Banks, who was arguably the most popular woman on the roster during her time in NXT, has been extremely underutilized on WWE's main roster, so if she does return following next week's big show, it'll likely be as a completely different character in an attempt to re-establish herself.
In fact, you could have her go after the new SmackDown Live Women's Champion and her ex-partner Bayley upon returning, as the two have never had a proper feud on the main roster. If they're allowed to do so with Banks as a heel and Bayley as a face, then the two could do some pretty incredible stuff together.
#1 Big E
New Day member Big E returned to SmackDown Live during last week's installment of the blue brand's weekly show, but on the very same night, he was laid out by Dolph Ziggler and placed back on the injured list. As of this writing, the former WWE Tag Team Champion hasn't been cleared for an in-ring return, but he could be back on television following next week's Super ShowDown.
You could make the argument that it's probably long past time to break up The New Day, as the trio has been together for almost five years, and the best way to do that would be to have Big E turn against his buddy Kofi, and insert himself into the WWE Championship picture.
Doing something like this might leave Xavier Woods in limbo, unless the company has him stick by Kofi Kingston throughout the potential feud. Of course, for maximum shock, WWE choose to have both Big E and Xavier Woods turn against Kofi Kingston, which might be the better way to go.
