Cody Rhodes' match against Solo Sikoa on WWE SmackDown witnessed an interference by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. While Randy Orton and Kevin Owens came to even the numbers, The Bloodline had a surprise planned in the form of debutant Jacob Fatu.

Fatu interfered and took on everyone on The American Nightmare's side. He also made sure to deliver some blows to Rhodes. However, during this segment, Rhodes injured his ribs. He confirmed the same during a live event.

While the status and extent of his injury are not known yet, we will discuss three potential superstars who can replace him as champion if Rhodes has to relinquish the belt due to injury.

#3. AJ Styles can win the Undisputed WWE Championship

Over the last few months, AJ Styles made a couple of attempts to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, all his attempts failed as he suffered losses to Cody Rhodes. While these losses must have stung Styles, they also affected his brand.

Hence, the Stamford-based promotion can help him build his stock again by making him the champion. Also, given that The Phenomenal One's career is nearing its end, it will be good to see him win another World Championship before he decides to hang up his boots.

#2. Solo Sikoa

Even though Solo Sikoa hasn't won a singles championship, and many would consider him inexperienced, it can't be denied that he has done a great job as the leader of The Bloodline until now. And those who have followed the faction's journey know how important being The Head of the Table is.

Therefore, given that title and the work Sikoa has done, WWE could consider making him a champion in Rhodes' absence. Booking Sikoa as a World Champion at this stage in his career will also prepare him for the pressure he will eventually face.

#1. Randy Orton

Among all the options present on the list, Randy Orton arguably makes the best case to become Undisputed WWE Champion if Cody Rhodes has to relinquish the title. First, Orton is a superstar loved by everyone on the blue brand, and this is a reason why fans will accept him.

Next, when Rhodes returns to action, he and Orton can have a blockbuster match for the title, given their history. Also, by booking The Apex Predator to win the title, the promotion will allow Randy Orton to become a 15-time World Champion, nearing Ric Flair and John Cena's record of 16 World Championships.
