Drew McIntyre returned to Monday Night RAW a week after his suspension for his actions at Money in the Bank. Even though it seemed he would be cleared to return to the main roster, he remained suspended, and his status for Summerslam is up in the air.
Drew McIntyre had a segment with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce that featured the two referees the former world champion assaulted following his match with Seth Rollins and Damian Priest.
McIntyre was asked to apologize to both referees for his actions if he wanted a match with CM Punk at SummerSlam. Drew refused to do so and instead assaulted them again, which kept him suspended for at least another week.
Drew McIntyre even attempted to assault Adam Pearce, but Seth Rollins interfered and saved the RAW GM. With that in mind, we look at three ways the Scottish Warrior will get reinstated on time for SummerSlam.
#3. Drew McIntyre could apologize for his actions
This would be the easiest way to get things settled right away. If Drew McIntyre appeared on RAW next week and apologized for his actions, his suspension would be lifted, and he would be cleared to compete at SummerSlam.
Still, he has shown no willingness to do so, as he accused the officials and Adam Pearce of costing him the World Heavyweight Championship by allowing CM Punk to interfere in his title matches.
#2. Assaulting CM Punk and Seth Rollins
This would be a more extreme way for Drew McIntyre to get reinstated, but it could be a new angle to his feud with CM Punk and Seth Rollins. More specifically, McIntyre would appear on one of the next two episodes of Monday Night RAW and would assault CM Punk and Seth Rollins.
That way, Punk and Rollins would be out for revenge and demand a match with The Scottish Warrior, forcing Pearce to lift the suspension and make the match official.
#1. CM Punk being medically cleared and asking Adam Pearce to make the match official
CM Punk's status for SummerSlam remains up in the air, as he must be medically cleared after a torn triceps surgery six months ago. WWE hopes he will be ready to participate in SummerSlam, but there is still no official confirmation.
Still, CM Punk is scheduled to appear on RAW next week to address his status and feud with McIntyre and Rollins. If he announces he is medically cleared to compete, we should expect him to ask Adam Pearce to lift Drew's suspension and make the match at SummerSlam official. On that occasion, Rollins could interfere to make it a Triple Threat.
That said, next week's RAW will shed more light on Drew McIntyre's future, but it appears that this Monday's segment was part of the storyline, and the Scottish Warrior will most likely be reinstated on time for a match against Punk at Summerslam.
