Orton got jumped on by the faction before the match, but still decided to defend his title. Thanks to an interference by John Cena, Orton somehow managed to retain the gold, but the cheers turned to a loud roar as The Miz's music hit!

In a span of minutes, Miz wore out The Viper enough to hit the Skull Crushing Finale and win his first WWE title. The arena erupted in a mix of cheers and boos, but a little girl stood out among the fans as she coldly stared at The Miz, seething with all the rage she could gather.
