Charlotte Flair lost her NXT Women's Championship at TakeOver: In Your House back in June, before being written off WWE TV in an attack at the hands of Nia Jax a few weeks later on RAW.
Flair and Jax brawled in the backstage area and it was later revealed that The Queen had suffered a "potential collarbone fracture" as a result. Following The Queen's departure from WWE, it was revealed by talkSport that the injury was a storyline that was written as a way to allow Flair to take some time away from the company.

Flair had been working on all three brands of WWE for a number of months and wanted to take some time away so that she could schedule her own surgery and have some time with her family.
The report went on to note that Flair was looking at making her return in time for the Royal Rumble, but if there was a storyline that she would slot into as part of Survivor Series then she could make her return a few months earlier initially than planned.
