Maria Kanellis returned to WWE for a second time in 2017 alongside her husband Mike, and the couple was initially seen as WWE's next "it couple."

Sadly, the return didn't work out for the two stars. Mike was moved over to 205 Live, and Maria later announced that she was expecting the couple's first child. She went on maternity leave, which somewhat derailed the duo's on-screen success.

When Maria returned in the summer of 2019, the couple wa dragged into a tag team match against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch on Monday Night RAW. During the bout, Maria announced that she couldn't wrestle because she was pregnant.

Over the next few weeks, RAW featured a storyline where Mike wasn't the father of Maria's baby because he wasn't "man enough." She then named Ricochet and even Rusev as the father instead.

WWE eventually dropped the storyline, and Maria went on maternity leave again. The company released her in April 2020 shortly after her son was born.
