Along with WWE WrestleMania and SummerSlam, the Royal Rumble is one of the most important Premium Live Events for the Stamford-based promotion. Since taking over as the head of creative, WWE CCO Triple H has ensured he does what it takes to deliver a blockbuster Royal Rumble.
From epic matches to returns and comebacks, fans have witnessed many exciting moments under the reign of The Game. While it remains to be seen which matches are booked for the PLE set to take place in February 2025, Triple H has already set the playing field for several major comebacks.
In this article, we will look at three potential returns set up by the WWE CCO for the 2025 Royal Rumble.
#3. Charlotte Flair could return at WWE Royal Rumble 2025
Charlotte Flair has been away from wrestling since suffering a knee injury in her match against Asuka on December 8th, 2023. While Flair received treatment and is on her path to return, there has been no official update on when The Nature Girl will make an appearance.
Hence, this leaves a possibility of Flair returning at the 2025 Royal Rumble. She could be a surprise entrant in the Women's Royal Rumble and could potentially win the event and challenge for a World Championship. It will be interesting to see if something along these lines takes place at the PLE.
#2. Jimmy Uso
On the December 13th edition of SmackDown, Drew McIntyre attacked Jimmy Uso. This attack on the OG Bloodline member came after Jimmy had already injured himself at Survivor Series: WarGames. Therefore, the possibility of Jimmy being off-screen for a while is high.
In his absence, McIntyre could feud with Jey Uso, a man he attacked four days before the attack on Jimmy. Later, Jimmy could return at Royal Rumble 2025 and eliminate McIntyre to even the odds. This would be the perfect revenge plot for The Usos.
#1. Randy Orton
Nearly a month ago, Randy Orton fell victim to a piledriver by Kevin Owens. As a result of this move, Orton had to be stretchered out and has been away from WWE programming since then. In his absence, Owens also attacked Orton's good friend Cody Rhodes after their match at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Rhodes, too, had to be stretchered out due to his attack. While The American Nightmare will return and take his revenge, Randy Orton could be brought back to WWE programming at the 2025 Royal Rumble. The 14-time World Champion could be a surprise entrant who takes out Kevin Owens and ends his dream of challenging for a World Title.
