WWE has entered the final stretch of 2024 and reports have surfaced about the status of injured superstars as well as what is next for other superstars and WWE executives that are on hiatus for months.
The Stamford-based company has hinted at the comeback of some superstars, bringing excitement to fans, but some recent reports have made things more complicated. With that in mind, we take a look at rumors that we want to be true and reports that we hope are not true.
#5. Hopefully not true: Alexa Bliss not coming back until after Christmas
Check out which wrestler EC3 finds cute RIGHT HERE
The last we saw Alexa Bliss in a WWE ring was all the way back in January 2023 and the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. Due to maternity leave, she has been out for almost two years, and even though WWE has teased her return at times, things are seemingly quite different on the ground.
According to a report by PWInsider, the creative team reportedly has no plans to bring Alexa Bliss back anytime soon; instead, this could happen after Christmas.
We hope this report is far from the truth, as The Goddess is one of the top stars in the business and her return will only bolster the WWE roster, while she could get involved in several storylines.
On the other hand, if the creative team decides to bring her back in January, they could book her to return at the Royal Rumble exactly two years after her previous appearance, to win the match and get a title shot at WrestleMania 41.
#4. Hopefully true: Jimmy Uso to return at Bad Blood?
It has been a while since Jimmy Uso made an appearance on SmackDown. Right after WrestleMania 40, Solo Sikoa kicked the former tag team champion out of The Bloodline, with WWE writing him off to supposedly recover from injuries.
Six months later, it appears that Jimmy Uso could be back this Saturday at Bad Blood. This was what Xero News reported, posting that Uso will come to the aid of Roman Reigns, who will team up with Cody Rhodes against Solo and Jacob Fatu.
Hopefully, this report turns out to be true and Jimmy will be back to SmackDown, as his comeback will add more fuel to the Bloodline civil war and will create a new angle to the storyline.
#3. Hopefully true: Becky Lynch getting closer to WWE return
Becky Lynch left WWE once her contract expired on June 1 this year. The two sides did not reach an agreement on a new deal and thus, The Man became a free agent. Four months later, WRKD Wrestling took to X/Twitter and shared an optimistic update on Lynch's status.
Per the social media post, it was 'only a matter of time' before she returned to the Stamford-based company, meaning that the two sides are possibly close to a new deal.
It would be great news if this report is true, as Becky Lynch is one of the top stars in the business and there are a lot of things she could do upon her return.
2. Hopefully not true - Charlotte Flair not coming back anytime soon
Charlotte Flair has been out of action since December 2023 after sustaining serious injuries to her knee. She has had surgery to repair the damage and was expected to make a full recovery in nine to 12 months.
Even though she was supposedly ahead of schedule and could return in October or November, her return is now under a cloud since she is reportedly not yet medically cleared to compete.
As Fightful reported, WWE has no idea of when and how she will make her comeback, thus we should consider it a no-brainer that she will most probably stay out longer than expected.
Hopefully, this report is far from the truth and Charlotte Flair will return before the end of the year, as there have already been enough storylines to get involved in either on RAW or SmackDown.
#1. Hopefully true: Paul Heyman to make his return as The Rock's Wiseman
Paul Heyman got a beatdown from Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline back in late June for his refusal to acknowledge Solo as the Tribal Chief and WWE has written him off since then. He was rumored to return alongside Roman Reigns, but The Original Tribal Chief made his return without The Wiseman in tow.
Heyman recently addressed his return rumors and made it clear that he will come back only if he can help The Bloodline storyline.
"It is going to set up a year’s worth of storylines. I will come back when it’s relevant for me to come back, when I need to come back, when I can add to Roman Reigns and not just ride his coattails and hang off of his glory," Paul Heyman said during a recent appearance at NYC Fanatics Fest, via Sportskeeda.
Per Xero News, WWE is considering having Paul Heyman side with The Rock as his Wiseman and help him dethrone Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, setting the stage for a Rock vs. Reigns match at WrestleMania 42.
Hopefully, this report is true and Heyman will turn on Reigns, leading to a blockbuster match between The Original Tribal Chief and The Final Boss at 'Mania in 2026.
