Triple H ushered in a new era for WWE RAW on Netflix this Monday night. However, The Rock soon overshadowed his appearance.
RAW had some great matches and segments that elevated the show to a whole new level. After a successful first episode, fans got a taste of what to expect from the show in the coming months.
However, The Game did not bring back a couple of top names for the show, while one star did not get the booking he deserved. It created some doubts in fans’ minds.
Check out the three superstars who were badly let down by Triple H on Monday night’s premiere of the red brand on Netflix.
#3. Becky Lynch didn’t show up on WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere
The WWE Universe patiently waited for Becky Lynch to return on RAW’s Netflix premiere after she was advertised at a recent NHL game. Many wanted to see her interfere in the Women’s World Championship match between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan.
Later in the night, a few fans still had hope as they wanted to see Becky Lynch appear to help Seth Rollins defeat CM Punk. Again, they were let down as The Man didn’t show up.
Triple H could have allowed Lynch to show up during the broadcast to make her return special. Instead, The Undertaker was given a spot where he appeared and accompanied Rhea Ripley to the back after her win.
#2. The World Heavyweight Champion was kept away by Triple H
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes showed up on RAW to make an impact on Netflix even though he belongs to the SmackDown brand. However, it was surprising that Triple H didn't feature the World Heavyweight Champion on the show.
The brand’s top men’s champion Gunther was kept away from the broadcast by the CCO. This was a surprising decision as it pegged down his credibility as compared to Rhodes and other stars.
Gunther is one of the most dominant stars in WWE. His appearance could have helped elevate him as a superstar and also made the show more star-studded.
#1. Cody Rhodes could have been given a better spot by Triple H on WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere
Unlike Gunther, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was present during the premiere of RAW on Netflix. However, his presence was greatly overshadowed.
At first, The Rock addressed Cody Rhodes, who looked like a geek in the crowd. Later on, he simply emerged to help Roman Reigns fend off an attack from Kevin Owens.
While Rhodes and Owens are in a bitter rivalry, it didn’t make sense for The American Nightmare to emerge to help him out in the big match. The two segments didn’t do much to elevate Cody Rhodes on the red brand.
Triple H could have given him a more meaningful appearance where he could have taken the mic to talk back with The Rock. He also didn’t sell his neck injury once again. Instead, it seemed like he was simply booked in the segments to make small appearances on the show.
