Being a World Champion has been McIntyre's destiny for over a decade

The Scottish Psychopath Drew McIntyre didn't have a great end to 2018 nor did he have a great start to 2019. However, Vince McMahon knows exactly what he has in his hands - a future world champion.

McIntyre is yet to show even half of the real potential that he has and the reason why it's been slow for him was simply that it wasn't his turn yet. Sooner or later, McIntyre will climb the ladder to main event status and will compete for the Universal Championship.

It's more than likely that he'll fall short in his first few attempts, but the renewed and motivated McIntyre is exactly what Vince McMahon's vision of a top star is. In 2009, McMahon declared that McIntyre was a "future World Champion".

From the look of things, his prophecy will, in fact, come true - only much later than he would have anticipated.
