John Cena and Edge were part of several personal storylines throughout their WWE careers, and more than once, Cena's own father was dragged into a storyline involving his son. John Cena Sr was at home when Edge decided to invade Cena's house ahead of SummerSlam back in 2006 and it didn't end well for the father of the former WWE Champion.

Edge wanted to send a personal message to John Cena and started looking around his home and laughing at most of his collectibles. This was until he came across Cena's father who told Edge that he would call the police if he didn't get out of his house.
The Rated-R Superstar responded by slapping Cena's father across the face before walking over the sofa and exiting the house. The SummerSlam match wasn't as straight forward as Cena expected as the former Champion was looking for revenge for his father, but Lita invaded the match and slapped the referee.
This allowed Cena to win the match via disqualification but Edge still retained the WWE Championship.
