#5 Brock Lesnar faced Kurt Angle for 25+ minutes
Whenever the legendary 2003 WWE SmackDown rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle is brought up, people often mention the WrestleMania 19 main event and the failed Shooting Star Press that “The Next Big Thing” tried to execute towards the end of the match.
The two Superstars competed in five one-on-one matches against each other between March 2003 and September 2003, with Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 19 triumph being the obvious highlight.
While that match lasted 21 minutes and 7 seconds, their longest one-on-one battle took place on an episode of SmackDown in September 2003 when Brock Lesnar regained the WWE Championship from Angle in a dramatic 60-minute Ironman match.
With Brock Lesnar leading 5-4, he cheated with 30 seconds left on the clock by obscuring the referee’s line of sight before connecting with a low-blow on his tired opponent.
Angle attempted an ankle lock with 15 seconds remaining but Brock Lesnar withstood the pressure and held on until the seconds finally ticked down, meaning he won the WWE Championship.
