John Cena is preparing for the final year of his legendary career, as he has already announced that he will retire at the end of 2025. He also announced that he will have a retirement tour that will last for the entire year and will retire in late December next year.
The Cenation Leader is expected to get inducted into the Hall of Fame, but it is unclear when this will happen. It could happen as early as next April at WrestleMania 41 or in the following years.
On what is sure to be a grand event, who could induct him into the Hall of Fame? We take a look at three possible WWE Superstars who could do the honors for the Greatest Of All Time.
#3. CM Punk
They are considered by many to be two of the greatest superstars in WWE history. CM Punk recently returned to WWE after a decade away and it appears that he has no desire to leave the Stamford-based promotion again.
In the meantime, his rivalry with John Cena back in the early 2010s was epic and it changed the business. It created numerous historical moments like him leaving Chicago with the WWE Championship in front of the then-chairman Vince McMahon.
It also led to a new era, as this was around the time when Triple H took over and transitioned into a WWE executive. Most importantly, it changed CM Punk's career, as he became a major star in the business and had a great three-year stint with WWE (2011-2014), where he held the WWE Championship for a record 434 days.
Thus, it would make sense for WWE to have CM Punk induct John Cena into the Hall of Fame.
#2. Randy Orton
Randy is another star who could easily be called Cena's greatest opponent of all time. They have had legendary careers and a great rivalry that lasted for more than a decade. They fought for the world title more often than not and did a great job as face (John Cena) and heel (Randy Orton), respectively.
Randy Orton would be a great pick to induct the 16-time world champion to the Hall of Fame. The two megastars last fought back in February 2017. They are expected by most fans to face off again eight years later, as The Viper is expected to be part of John Cena's retirement tour. The only question is whether any major title will be on the line when these two collide.
#1. Kurt Angle
John Cena made his debut in WWE 22 years ago, back on June 27, 2002. He was the one who answered Kurt Angle's open challenge and went to the ring to make a name for himself.
The two started a feud, with Cena being the upstart novice trying to make a statement and Angle the accomplished veteran superstar. Fast forward to today, Angle has retired and Cena is ready to finish a legendary career.
Thus, it would make sense for WWE to have Kurt Angle induct John Cena into the Hall of Fame, as it would be a full circle moment since The Cenation Leader started his career in the business with a feud against Kurt Angle.
In addition to that, it could even be a throwback to the time when Cena inducted Kurt Angle into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2017.
