It was recently announced that WWE would soon be crowning an inaugural Women's United States Champion. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis revealed the title on last night's episode of the blue brand. And, as expected, the new title has already begun sparking much interest.
A new belt means new opportunities for a rapidly growing WWE Women's Division. This has been a long time coming, and now every woman on the roster will be vying to become the first-ever Women's United States Champion. But, this raises a question, who will it be? What's important to remember, is that this title serves as a secondary championship.
While main eventers like Bayley, Rhea Ripley, and Naomi, among others, will no doubt win the title one day, it is the perfect chance for superstars on the precipice of success to step into the spotlight. So, with that in mind, here are three WWE Superstars who would make for a perfect inaugural Women's United States Champion.
#3. Raquel Rodriguez would love to bring more gold to The Judgment Day
As things stand, The Judgment Day is undoubtedly the most decorated faction in WWE. With Finn Balor and JD McDonagh as World Tag Team Champions, and Liv Morgan as the Women's World Champion, the group's trophy cabinet is stacked. That being said though, they definitely wouldn't mind adding more silverware.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
So, perhaps Raquel Rodriguez may go out and do just that. Big Mami Cool is certainly dominant enough to become the inaugural Women's United States Champion. And should she succeed, it would feed the narrative that The Judgment Day is the team to beat in all of WWE.
#2. Chelsea Green would love to flaunt the title, especially as a "Canadian" champion
Chelsea Green is a superstar who is constantly complaining about a lack of opportunities. Well, becoming champion would certainly put an end to those complaints. She will definitely be throwing her name into the hat once the title is officially put up for grabs, but one can only imagine what she will do if she wins it all.
Obviously, Green being who she is, will not let any superstar or the WWE Universe forget that she is champion. What's more, the irony of her becoming the inaugural Women's United States Champion, as a Canadian, would be a little tidbit she could flaunt that would fit perfectly with her heel character. And from the looks of it, she has already started manifesting it.
#1. American Made's Ivy Nile as Women's United States Champion just makes sense
When considering this is the Women's United States Championship we are talking about, it seems tailor-made for American Made. The group led by Chad Gable, must have been excited about the announcement, as they will surely be backing Lady Liberty, Ivy Nile to become the inaugural champion.
Nile definitely has the skill and ability to win the title, and it also helps that her new gimmick fits it to a tee. Having her become champion would also establish American Made as one of the top groups in WWE. No matter what angle you look at it from, Nile as Women's United States Champion makes perfect sense.
