A report from PWInsider emerged stating that Vince McMahon has paused Humberto Carrillo's push. The report stated:

“For those who asked why there was no update on Humberto Carrillo, the decision was made to focus on the Ricochet stuff," wrote Johnson. "Much like Mansoor being forgotten a week after he debuted, the decision was made to focus on something else.”

WWE hasn't done much with Humberto Carrillo, but it's also evident that he has a long way to go to develop as an overall performer. As of now, there isn't much that stands out about him, which is why it's somewhat understandable that Vince McMahon would choose to go with Ricochet vs Sheamus rather than involving Humberto Carrillo as well.

Carrillo is also one of the youngest superstars on the WWE roster and has many years to develop. But in the eyes of many fans, he doesn't have a high ceiling in WWE. It will be interesting to see how he's handled by Vince McMahon and WWE going forward.
