3 WWE Superstars who could face Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam

Drew McIntyre is currently one of the biggest Superstars of WWE. The Scottish Psychopath had a Tag Team Match at Extreme Rules where he teamed up with Shane McMahon to face the team of Roman Reigns and the Undertaker. McIntyre's team lost the match when the Phenom pinned Shane McMahon.

McIntyre's second tenure in WWE has been spectacular. After winning the NXT Title in the developmental brand, he made his main roster return last year. Since making his come back, McIntyre has established himself as a top heel of the Red Brand. He defeated Dolph Ziggler, Kurt Angle, Baron Cornin and two members of the Shield.

Presently, the former NXT Champion has an association with Shane McMahon. In fact, the Scottish Psychopath helped Shane to beat Roman Reigns at Super ShowDown. Considering SummerSlam is just three weeks away, McIntyre is likely to have a match at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

Here we discuss three possible opponents for Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam.

#3 John Cena

John Cena made a shocking appearance at RAW Reunion this week. The sixteen-time WWE Champion wasn't scheduled to appear but he opened the show. Considering Cena is a titanic name, WWE could bring him back at SummerSlam. Prior to RAW Reunion, Cena's last appearance was at WrestleMania 35 where he had an entertaining segment with Elias.

Cena has unfinished business with McIntyre and the latter could be a great opponent for the former WWE Champion. When Cena made his long-awaited return earlier this year, he was confronted by the Scottish Psychopath. The two men offered an astounding segment and McIntyre threatened to destroy the Leader of Cenation. Subsequently, the two men participated in Fatal 4-Way Match to decide the number one contender for the Universal Championship. Unfortunately, Cena suffered an ankle injury and McIntyre injured Cena.

While McIntyre and Cena were developing a feud, it didn't progress after the injury of the former WWE Champion. Therefore, they could restart the rivalry if Cena decides to have a match at the biggest show of Summer. Due to the sublime mic skills of the two Superstars, it could turn out to be an extraordinary rivalry.

#2 Roman Reigns

Will we see it again?
Will we see it again?

Drew McIntyre has a long history with Roman Reigns as two men tussled a couple of times this year. While Reigns had a long rivalry with Shane McMahon, the former NXT Champion was also part of the feud. Reigns and McIntyre crossed paths in a Tag Team Match at Extreme Rules.

Prior to WrestleMania 35, the Scottish Psychopath gained significant momentum. Apart from pinning Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, he also beat some other big names. McIntyre claimed to destroy the Shield single-handedly, however, it didn't happen when he faced the Big Dog at the Grandest Stage of Them All as Reigns defeated McIntyre. Following the match, they also locked horns at Stomping Grounds where the result was the same.

We could see the final chapter of this rivalry if McIntyre and Reigns collide at SummerSlam. Due to the dexterity of the two men, they are competent enough to deliver exceptional matches. While the WrestleMania match was ordinary, they stole the show at Stomping Grounds. Since McIntyre and Reigns already fought in two regular matches, we could see a new stipulation if they tussle at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

#1 The Undertaker

It should be money
It should be money

The Undertaker recently fought at Extreme Rules and he is expected to be part of SummerSlam which is the Biggest Show of the Summer. The Phenom could be an excellent choice to face McIntyre. Since the Deadman was the Tag Team partner of Roman Reigns, the former crossed paths with McIntyre at Extreme Rules.

Though Undertaker skipped WrestleMania, he had a dream match at Super ShowDown where he faced Goldberg. However, the dream match turned into a disaster with several botches. During his recent match at Extreme Rules, the Deadman seemed eager to prove his doubters wrong and he delivered a great performance.

The Phenom and The Scottish Psychopath had a face-off at Extreme Rules. Due to the age of the Undertaker, he might not match the swiftness of McIntyre in the ring but they could offer a decent match. Regardless of the result of the match, it could elevate the stature of McIntyre in the WWE.
