Jinder Mahal may be at a bit of a slow point right now in WWE, but don't expect it to stay that way...

"The Modern Day Maharaja" Jinder Mahal has turned his career around to a great extent since his return in 2016, and Jinder now has a WWE and United States Championship reign under his belt. While many fans were firmly against Mahal's surprise WWE Title reign last year and believed he had failed as a top star, it's clear most anticipated Mahal to continue being pushed rather heavily on Monday Night Raw following his draft earlier this year. According to various sources, Jinder Mahal was mainly blamed for his first Raw feud with Roman Reigns failing (apparently they believed Jinder didn't establish himself as a "star"), and this is likely the reason as to why Jinder has reverted to his "Shanti" gimmick.

However, while the immediate future remains fairly bleak for Jinder Mahal, don't expect it to remain this way for much longer. Jinder is still in Vince's good books despite his apparent on-screen "punishment" lately, and according to Mahal, Vince has told him that he'll become WWE Champion again in the future -- perhaps even next year... If Vince had to choose, you can be assured he'd pick Mahal to push over Kevin Owens despite "The Prizefighters" superior in-ring ability.
