WWE Friday Night SmackDown will have two major title matches this week. In the first, Nia Jax will defend her WWE Women's Championship against Naomi, while in the second title match, The Motor City Machine Guns will defend their WWE Tag Team titles against The Street Profits. Both the matches were announced by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis on the show last week.

However, one of the superstars from the tag team match, Montez Ford, might also be having his last appearance on SmackDown tonight. There is a possibility of Ford turning heel after failing to dethrone the champions or even walking out in the middle of the match, leaving Dawkins to face the MCMG alone. He might as well quit SmackDown. The reason could be his frustration of not winning any tag team title in the last few years.

While The Street Profits have been quite convincing as a team, with both Ford and Dawkins putting up some good matches, they haven't been able to win a single title in the last four years. Both superstars are immensely frustrated by this championship drought in their tag team careers.

While speaking to Byron Saxton on SmackDown LowDown recently, the 34-year-old star opened up on the massive frustration he and his partner faced without any title wins in the last four years.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

"Four years of drought. No WWE Tag Team Championship, not in the conversation with everybody. And for us to walk around happy and still putting smiles on everybody's faces, walking around like everything is okay, when everything is not okay, Byron!"

Moreover, the talks around Montez Ford walking out of The Street Profits and pursuing a singles run have been there for a while. He is perceived to be a capable breakout singles superstar who can do more as an individual.

Therefore, Ford walking out in the middle of the match against MCMG and taking a heel turn might do good for him in the long run.

Montez Ford makes bold statement ahead of WWE SmackDown

Apart from venting his frustration over the title drought, Montez Ford, in an interview with Byron Saxton on SmackDown LowDown, made a bold statement that he and Angelo Dawkins shall dethrone The Motor City Machine Guns as the WWE Tag Team Champions.

"Next week, it changes, we stamp ourselves once again. We put ourselves in every single conversation, every single one. That's on everything. That's on momma, that's on the hood, that's on the world. God, we taking home the gold. That's how confident we are right now," Ford said. [04:07 - 04:35]

While Ford might be optimistic about his team's performance, the chances of MCMG losing the gold are unlikely. The duo might have been new in the Stamford-based promotion, but they are top-class wrestlers in the industry, and they had a ravishing career at the TNA Impact Wrestling.

In the second week of their run in WWE only, they beat DIY for the No.1 Contenders match on the October 25 edition of SmackDown, and then on the same night, defeated The Bloodline's Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to win the Tag Team titles.

Hence, they are expected to retain the gold for some time.
