The Undertaker, like many WWE Hall of Famers, has made sporadic appearances in the Stamford-based promotion since his induction in 2022. However, some of these appearances shocked the audience.
After wrestling for 30 years, The Undertaker was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022 after initially retiring at Survivor Series 2020. Since then, he has made surprise appearances on the Stamford-based promotion mainly as his other character The American Badass. Still, his character remains a mystery and a major shock when he appears, especially since there were times fans completely didn't see it coming.
For this list, we will look at three appearances after The Undertaker's WWE retirement that no one saw coming
#3. WWE RAW is XXX
On January 23, 2023, in Philadelphia, a special episode of the Monday show aired titled RAW is XXX as a way to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the program. Many legends like D-Generation X, Kurt Angle, APA, Hulk Hogan, and more were present at the show. However, the most surprising part of this episode was possibly The Undertaker.
The Deadman shockingly got involved in LA Knight and Bray Wyatt's feud. The Hall of Famer emerged with his American Badass gimmick and threatened LA, Bray emerged to attack his rival, and Wyatt and his former WrestleMania opponent shared a personal moment that many considered was a "passing of the torch" moment.
#2. WrestleMania XL saw The Undertaker help Cody Rhodes
The Bloodline Rules match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL involved many superstars. The Usos, The Rock, Seth Rollins, Solo Sikoa, John Cena, and Paul Heyman. Many thought Stone Cold Steve Austin would also be there to help The American Nightmare and somewhat renew his rivalry with The Final Boss, but another Hall of Famer appeared instead.
After The Rock laid out John, lights dimmed and the iconic gong sounded, which was met with a deafening cheer from the crowd. When the lights returned, Taker was there staring at The Final Boss before delivering a chokeslam.
#1. The Undertaker paid NXT a visit
October 10, 2023, was arguably one of the most unforgettable episodes of WWE NXT to date. Stars like Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Paul Heyman, and more were present to acknowledge the crowd and get involved with some of the talent. However, it was Taker's last-minute appearance that stole the show.
Days before the episode, fans may have already figured out that Taker would appear after a gong sounded at the end of one of the commercials. However, many brushed it off as the episode came to a close, only for Taker to appear after being challenged by Bron Breakker and delivering a chokeslam to the former NXT Champion.
