Ric Flair, although older than the other superstars, was an active performer till late. So when When Vince Mcmahon put up a retirement stipulation on every match that Ric Flair had, everyone, knew that it was leading up to a retirement match at Wrestlemania.
Expectations were understandably high when Shawn Michaels was announced to battle Ric Flair at Wrestlemania. While the outcome was never in doubt, the match was as emotional as they come. It was a form of storytelling brilliance by both Flair and Michaels.

When Michaels pinned him for the 3-count, he left the ring quickly, giving the Nature Boy the deserving spotlight. His retirement send-off on RAW was an emotional ride, with even The Undertaker breaking character to pay his respect to the Nature Boy.
