The New Day turned heel on the December 2 episode of WWE RAW and left Big E behind. The former WWE champion has not been in action since suffering a broken neck on the March 11, 2022, edition of SmackDown.
He returned during The New Day's 10th anniversary earlier this month and offered to serve as the manager for Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston to help sort out their recent problems. However, the former champions had no interest in working with the 38-year-old and demanded that he get out of the ring.
Listed below are four possible roles for the veteran in the company following his departure from The New Day:
#4. Big E could serve as the manager of a rising WWE star
Big E has proven to be wildly entertaining with the microphone in his hand and could become a manager for a star the company sees a lot of potential in. Carmelo Hayes was a first-round draft pick by SmackDown in this year's WWE Draft but has not found a lot of success on the blue brand so far.
The 38-year-old could approach SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis in the weeks ahead and offer to become Hayes' manager. The former NXT Champion will likely hate the idea, but a partnership with Big E could take him to new heights on the blue brand.
#3. The former champion could create another version of The New Day
The New Day has turned heel on WWE RAW and Big E likely does not agree with the direction chosen by his former faction. He could have a conversation with the RAW General Manager in the coming weeks about returning to the red brand as the manager of a new stable.
Big E may decide that he still wants to become a manager after being turned down by Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The former powerlifter could manage a new version of The New Day and enter into a rivalry with Kingston and Woods on RAW.
#2. The veteran could become an announcer for the company
One of Big E's best attributes is his unwavering charisma, and he could put that on full display as an announcer for the company. The former champion has been working as an announcer for the promotion during kick-off shows ahead of premium live events in recent months. It was recently reported that he will be serving as a host for a new WWE project on Netflix.
WWE could capitalize on the Florida-born star's entertaining personality by making him an announcer for the promotion if he cannot return to the ring. This would allow the audience to remain connected to the former two-time Intercontinental Champion for many years to come.
#1. He could replace Adam Pearce or Nick Aldis
Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis have done well as authority figures in the company so far. Pearce is currently the General Manager of WWE RAW, while Aldis serves as his counterpart on SmackDown.
The company could decide to change things in the future and may select Big E as a candidate for the next GM of either brand. Most stars in the locker room would likely show the former New Day member respect, as many of them have shared the ring with him in the past.
