Batista and Brock Lesnar were both called up to the main-roster from OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) in 2002 after Wrestlemania X8. While Lesnar was pushed immediately, Batista was given his due push as a top Superstar a little later.

Both Batista and Lesnar were among WWE's top Superstars during their first run with WWE. Both of them also made it big outside WWE. Lesnar became a dominant Mixed Martial Artist while Batista became a successful Hollywood star.

A match between these two monsters would have definitely happened if Lesnar hadn't left in 2004. Now, Batista plans on returning to the ring one more time to wrap up his in-ring career the right way. However, his dream opponent is Triple H. So, it looks like we may never see a Batista vs. Brock Lesnar match in the future.

Although we never got to see the two behemoths in a singles match on the main roster, they have crossed paths in Ohio Valley Wrestling and during a live event in early 2003, right before Batista got himself injured. Lesnar was the bigger star then, so it was logical for him to emerge victorious. We hope that WWE posts that match on WWE Network someday.
