4 challengers for Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso after their Undisputed Tag Team Championship win at WWE Fastlane 2023

Who will step up to the new champions?
Who will step up to the new Undisputed Tag Team Champions?

Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes kicked off WWE Fastlane 2023 in pulsating fashion by winning the Undisputed Tag Team Championship. The mega babyface pairing knocked off Damian Priest and Finn Balor, ending the latter's reign at 35 days. This move left many fans shocked, to say the least, given that the company has lately been invested in long title runs.

With Rhodes and Uso now the Undisputed Tag Team Champions, a number of challengers will be waiting to step up to their throne. Who will be the frontrunners? Which duos from RAW and SmackDown will be in pole position to confront the American Nightmare and Main Event Jey?

Here are four teams ready to challenge Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso after their big WWE Fastlane 2023 win:

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

#4 A new title challenger may emerge from the shadows after WWE Fastlane 2023

WWE's tag team division is currently one of its most untapped goldmines. While the singles division is firing on all cylinders with multiple red-hot babyfaces, heels and title opportunities, many incredible tag teams remain underutilized. The likes of Imperium, Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro, Street Profits, New Day and the newly reunited DIY are ready to make a run at the titles.

With a pair of newly crowned fighting babyface champions, all these teams are likely to get their shot at the gold. Who wouldn't want to see Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso institute a weekly open challenge, giving everyone an opportunity to shine?

#3 The Judgment Day may not be done with Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes after WWE Fastlane 2023

The Judgment Day is one of the most dominant factions in WWE today. They have built an empire of success off of ruthlessness, taking advantage of their superior numbers, and a thirst for domination. Thus, they're unlikely to take their loss at Fastlane lying down.

We fully expect any combination of Finn Balor, Damian Priest, JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio to be back for revenge on the champs sooner or later. With Survivor Series around the corner, this saga may well continue until everyone involved clashes in a War Games match.

#2 Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens still have their eye on the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Titles

Just moments after Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso were announced as challengers for the Undisputed Tag Team Titles at Fastlane, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were interviewed backstage. When asked their thoughts on the opportunity afforded to their allies, Zayn was conflicted, stating that he was happy for them but also keeping an eye on the championship.

Kevin Owens was markedly less conflicted, stating that they would be waiting for whoever came out on top. Who would bet against them being the first duo to meet the new champions? The two teams might be allied against The Judgment Day, but they are first and foremost competitors, so Rhodes and Uso might have to keep an eye out for some friendly competition.

#1 Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso have historic and current differences with Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso

Sikoa and Jimmy will be seeking redemption as The Tribal Chief returns
Sikoa and Jimmy will be seeking redemption as The Tribal Chief returns

Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso are Jey Uso's brothers and former stablemates in The Bloodline. They are also two of the biggest antagonists Cody Rhodes has faced thus far in his quest to "finish his story" and become the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. The duo just suffered a huge loss at Fastlane, falling to John Cena and LA Knight.

With The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns set to return to SmackDown on the post-Fastlane episode, Jimmy and Solo will need something to erase their latest failure. What better way to appease The Tribal Chief than by dethroning two of The Bloodline's biggest rivals for the Undisputed Tag Team Titles?
