Triple H brought in many big names for WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere but kept Gunther out of the mix. Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa competed in one of the biggest matches on Monday night. Meanwhile, The Rock, John Cena, The Undertaker, and Hulk Hogan made big appearances on the show.
However, the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther was kept out of the show. This was quite surprising, especially because the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes appeared on RAW even though he’s on the SmackDown brand.
Take a look at the four directions for Gunther after Triple H ignored him for RAW’s Netflix premiere.
#4. Gunther could return to clap back at WWE fans and Triple H
The WWE Universe cheered every babyface and champion who appeared on-screen during RAW’s debut episode on Netflix. However, one could not hear anyone ask for Gunther’s presence during the broadcast.
The Ring General could appear next Monday to take a shot at fans to kick off the show. He could claim that he has been one of WWE’s most dominant stars, yet fans did not call for him.
It could see him turn into a much more vicious heel than he already is. He could go down the same path as Drew McIntyre while remaining the World Heavyweight Champion and taking shots at Triple H.
#3. John Cena could come face-to-face with the champion
John Cena was one of the top featured stars on RAW’s Netflix debut. The Greatest of All Time hyped fans and nearly tricked them into thinking that he wouldn’t aim for another world title.
Cena also teased future rivalries with top stars, including Gunther. The World Heavyweight Champion could appear on next week’s show to interrupt the WWE veteran.
He could tell John Cena not to waste his energy fighting in the Royal Rumble and to reach WrestleMania 41, as he would only lose to The Ring General. He could even show him the door and tell him to leave as he is now The Greatest of All Time.
This would bring a lot more heat toward the World Heavyweight Champion and possibly increase fans’ interest in John Cena’s Royal Rumble appearance. Triple H could build the two men’s potential WrestleMania 41 main event match for the world title around the segment.
#2. CM Punk could immediately enter his next rivalry after WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere
CM Punk defeated Seth Rollins in the main event of RAW on Netflix. The match was topnotch and had a clean finish to ensure The Best in the World stayed on top.
His victory could take Rollins out of the picture for some time. Meanwhile, Punk could challenge Gunther on next week’s episode of the red brand to get in contention for the World Heavyweight Title.
Triple H could book a world title match between the two men for Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber. CM Punk could win the title ahead of WrestleMania 41, only to be attacked by a heelish Seth Rollins to book a match between them for The Show of Shows.
#1. A Hall of Famer could confront Gunther after Triple H’s move
Triple H may be playing some cards close to his chest, and therefore he may have decided to keep the World Heavyweight Champion away from the first episode of the show on Netflix. Fans could see some more WWE veterans appear on the second episode of the show.
Goldberg is one of the stars who could show up on the second episode of RAW on the streaming platform. He could immediately challenge Gunther for a match at WrestleMania 41.
Booking the segment on the next episode could help it make headlines rather than get buried under other top segments. WWE fans could see The Ring General lose his World Heavyweight Title to CM Punk due to Goldberg’s interference before their big match is confirmed by Triple H.
