WWE Superstar Sami Zayn headed into his Saturday Night’s Main Event match against Drew McIntyre with a lot of anger. However, the former Intercontinental Champion couldn’t turn that fury into a win and was cleanly defeated by The Scottish Warrior.

So, what’s next for the Canadian luchador? Below are four possible directions he may take following his SNME loss.

#4. Have another go at Drew McIntyre in the RAW Netflix era

WWE highlighted several statistics ahead of the showdown between Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn. One of them was that Zayn had never defeated The Scottish Warrior in a singles match. Moreover, McIntyre was also the man who had eliminated the OG Bloodline member at the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Thus, these two wrestlers already have a lot of history and heat between them. WWE can build a really great feud between these two men and make them collide when RAW moves to Netflix.

#3. Sami Zayn can feud with Kevin Owens once again

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have a history of rivalry and friendship that dates back to their days in the independent circuit. Moreover, KO has turned heel several times by betraying Zayn. Right now, The Prizefighter is completely against Roman Reigns, and Drew McIntyre also attacked Zayn for aligning with The OTC.

Thus, WWE could use this angle to revive the feud between Owens and Zayn. Since The Scottish Warrior had also ambushed Jey Uso, he could potentially tag with the Honorary Uce to fight McIntyre and KO in doubles action.

#2. A heel turn may be imminent

Zayn has been on the receiving end of punishment for a long time. He was beaten and cast away by Roman Reigns during the heyday of The OG Bloodline. He also faced a lot of humiliation and mistrust at the hands of The Usos. Zayn made an enemy of Solo Sikoa’s crew and Bronson Reed during Survivor Series.

Drew McIntyre returned out of nowhere, ambushing him twice and defeating him in a singles match. Moreover, the Canadian has only seen a downfall in singles competition since he dropped his Intercontinental Championship to Bron Breakker. Thus, he could soon turn heel.

#1. Sami Zayn can leave RAW and attack Cody Rhodes

While Sami Zayn has been getting the short end of the stick everywhere, Cody Rhodes is enjoying a fabulous run as the Undisputed WWE Champion. While Zayn’s title run wasn’t protected, nor was he helped by Roman Reigns at SNME against McIntyre, The OTC has helped Rhodes twice.

This could create a sense of jealousy within Zayn towards The American Nightmare. Moreover, he can take revenge on both Rhodes and Reigns by aligning himself with The Rock. The Final Boss has already warned the duo at Bad Blood and would love to use an insider of the OG Bloodline to attack The OTC.

Thus, the Stamford-based promotion has several storylines where they can fit Sami Zayn. It would be interesting to see which path The Honorary Uce takes in the future.
