Roman Reigns made an earth-shattering return to WWE at SummerSlam 2024, attacking Solo Sikoa in his first post-WrestleMania appearance. The Original Tribal Chief has since waged a one-man war on Sikoa and his version of The Bloodline, with the numbers disadvantage finally catching up. The audience is palpably excited to see how he gets back at the new Tribal Chief, along with his incredibly dangerous crew.
When he is done settling family business, though, the newly-babyface Reigns will have a whole new field of opponents to interact with. Whether it be new faces that have emerged in his absence, established names he didn't face in his iconic title reign, or old rivals delivering his reckoning for his past actions, the six-time world champion will have his hands full after concluding his feud with his usurper.
Here are four exciting opponents Roman Reigns could face in WWE after Solo Sikoa.
#4: Jacob Fatu is being set up as a future Roman Reigns opponent by WWE
Since Roman Reigns returned to WWE, the creative team has been extremely careful about managing his interactions with Jacob Fatu. At SummerSlam, Fatu was unable to confront Reigns due to an injury sustained after delivering an announce table splash to Cody Rhodes. This injury explained his absence in The OTC's beatdown of The Bloodline the following SmackDown, keeping him protected.
The Samoan Werewolf finally came into contact with The Head of the Table, getting the upper hand on the latter in a 3-on-1 assault. The 32-year-old is clearly being protected to set up a future match with the six-time world champion. Could he be the former Shield powerhouse's next opponent after Solo Sikoa?
#3: Roman Reigns and long-term WWE rival Kevin Owens could mix it up yet again
Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens have a storied rivalry in WWE spanning both the former's babyface Big Dog and heel Tribal Chief personas. In fact, The Prizefighter was the most frequent opponent of Reigns' 1316-day world title run. While there seems to be mutual respect between the duo, there's also bad blood, as seen from Owens' recent tirade against Nick Aldis' idea to grant the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion a rematch.
Given that there's a fair chance that Triple H and Co. will turn the former Universal Champion heel against Cody Rhodes, he could go after The OTC when he's done with The American Nightmare. Could the 40-year-old Canadian star get a rare singles win over his long-time nemesis? It would be a huge statement of intent for his newly-turned character to get such a massive scalp.
#2: Roman Reigns has unfinished big-money business with Seth Rollins
Roman Reigns' loss to Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania XL involved many moving parts, including The Rock, John Cena, and The Undertaker. However, it could be argued that Reigns' downfall in the match came when he decided to attack Seth Rollins with a steel chair instead of The American Nightmare.
The Visionary is arguably The OTC's biggest career rival and has been the latter's Achilles heel for more than a decade since The Shield broke up. Through their multiple battles, the former Bloodline leader has famously never beaten The Visionary one-on-one, making their rivalry a major piece of unfinished business in his career.
Given that the 39-year-old was an undrafted free agent in the 2024 draft, could he show up on RAW to confront Rollins a few months after finishing up with Solo Sikoa?
#1: The Rock is Roman Reigns' biggest foreseeable opponent in WWE
When The Rock returned to WWE on The Road to WrestleMania XL, it was seemingly to set up a mega match with Roman Reigns. Fan outrage changed those plans in Philadelphia, creating The Final Boss character and swerved plans for everyone involved. However, Rock vs. Reigns still remains the biggest dream match currently available to the Stamford-based promotion.
Now that The OTC is an incredibly popular babyface, his path ultimately leads to a mega feud with The Great One. This will depend on when the latter's Hollywood schedule opens up and how quickly he can resolve his unfinished business with Cody Rhodes, but the Samoan duo seems headed for a massive collision.
The Head of the Table's rivalry with Solo Sikoa may even factor into setting it up!
