John Cena has been the face of WWE for around 15 years. He may have started his career as an obnoxious heel, but WWE realized the potential of The Franchise and turned him into a babyface. Cena has since then gone on to become the most popular face in WWE history, but his recent run in the company has just become plain. His character now seems stale and unappealing.

Cena has never turned heel since his initial run of 2002-03. With the dream match between Cena and The Undertaker finally happening at WrestleMania 34, the WWE might be looking for a swerve.

The Cenation Leader has been calling out Taker for three weeks, but The Deadman hasn't responded yet. With each promo getting nastier week by week, Cena has insulted not only the character but also the man in The Undertaker.

The match between two of the greatest performers in the sports-entertainment industry could see John Cena embracing his negative side for once. The Undertaker needs to win his final match, and Big Match John on the losing side could finally vent out his frustrations and create the biggest shocker in WrestleMania history.

Cena turning heel will open a plethora of angles. WWE can try to set up a younger talent like Seth Rollins or Johnny Gargano whom Cena can put over, and get the "bury young talent" label finally removed. A heel Cena would be immediately interesting to fans and depending on how the WWE books his character, it could extend his career for another few years.
