Many a time, WWE has been guilty of having plot holes in various storylines. Sometimes these holes are too small to actually have an impact but on other occasions, they're just too glaring and could make an average viewer scratch his head and question what the hell was all that.
Last month as well, we picked out a few of these incidents where what happened just didn't make any sense at all. So let's go through the instances when what happened just didn't make any sense at all.
#1 Sasha Banks getting a shot at the women's title
Sasha Banks is an amazing wrestler, she's got her own fair share of accolades ever since she's stepped into WWE. But one has to ask what was so special that she did that she was skyrocketed to become the number 1 contender for Raw Women's Championship? What was a bigger farce was that Ronda Rousey got to elect her next opponent, who was decided in a match only between Banks and Nia Jax, how often does that happen?
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
And more importantly, wasn't it only sometime back that the whole women's roster questioned the authority about opportunities? What wrong has a Ruby Riot or even a Bayley done to not get a shot at the title? Or conversely what has Sasha Banks done so well that she was propelled to the top.
Has she defeated any of the wrestlers recently? No, she hasn't, there has hardly been anything of note that Sasha has recently done that would push her above the rest of the roster. Funnily, the biggest farce was no one really protested (apart from Nia of course but even that hardly looked convincing). WWE could have maybe put together a triple threat or a fatal 4-way to at least make things a bit credible. Sure there was an exception, with Nia challenging Sasha(and ultimately Sasha beating her), but this still doesn't explain why no other women in the whole roster raised an eyebrow at the sudden elevation that Sasha got.
#2 Braun Strowman gets thrown out of his match at Royal Rumble
So... Braun Strowman accidentally damages Vince McMahon's limousine and out of anger, Vince McMahon puts him out of the Universal Championship match at Royal Rumble. Hmm... isn't that a bit weird?
Sure Vince McMahon flipped his lid and put Braun out of the match, but what was weird was Braun's reaction. He didn't retaliate against Vince, nothing was done(flipping a billionaire's car hardly does anything to him). In fact, Braun Strowman, the "Monster among men", just got bullied at the hands of Vince McMahon.
To make it worse, we had Baron Corbin, the person responsible for such a predicament for Braun, took part in the number one contenders match while Braun was nowhere to be seen. Somewhere this just seemed a very loosely written piece by the WWE Creative, and just didn't make any sense at all. Braun strangely didn't act like Braun and it didn't raise any eyebrows at all.
#3 The Miz and Shane McMahon get a title shot
The Miz waltz out to the ring, challenge The Bar for a match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at the Royal Rumble, The Bar accepts and that's it, you have your title shot. What history does the duo of Shane McMahon and The Miz have as a tag team? They even lost to a couple of jobbers and hadn't faced any competitive opposition.
But still without any objections, they get a tag team championship match, shouldn't they have been tested in a few matches before getting a title match? And why did no one in the SmackDown locker room not object to it? SmackDown is 'the land of opportunities', but does it mean that even the unworthy get an opportunity over the more deserving bunch? It just didn't make sense and the more you think about it, the more it seems unfair to the whole roster. The Miz and Shane are now the new champions, and it does bring a breath of fresh air to the whole tag team roster, but it could have been done in a better way.
