In a short amount of time, Matt Riddle has proven to be one of the top Superstars in NXT. Everything he’s done since his debut has been memorable, and his last hard-hitting feud with Killian Dain was one of the best we’ve seen in recent times.
Matt Riddle teamed up with Tommaso Ciampa and Keith Lee to take on RAW’s premiere faction, The OC, on NXT last week. While the action was going great, and it seemed like NXT had the upper hand, Finn Balor appeared to lay Riddle out on the ramp with a Bloody Sunday before showing respect to his former Bullet Club partner AJ Styles.
Balor’s move, the same one that has taken Johnny Gargano out of action, could have infuriated Riddle, as he is one of the most aggressive competitors in NXT. In the coming weeks, we could see Riddle develop a rivalry with Finn Balor, and even pull out of his WarGames match just to challenge Balor to a brawl in order to teach him a lesson.
If that’s the route the company is planning to take, especially after Balor’s attack on Riddle, then fans can prepare for some incredible segments and matches in the weeks to come.
